L’articolo ricostruisce alcune vicende dell’impegno risorgimentale degli avvocati coinvolti – a vario titolo – nelle spedizioni garibaldine, a partire dal materiale risultante nel censimento compiuto dall’Archivio di Stato di Torino sulle liste dei richiedenti l’iscrizione fra i “garibaldini”. Ne risulta un quadro sfaccettato in cui emergono (al di là dei personaggi censiti) i profili di avvocati illustri, che hanno collaborato con Garibaldi non solo nelle campagne militari, ma anche nelle attività amministrative e di governo dei territori conquistati.

L’article reconstitue certains événements de l’engagement pendant le « Risorgimento » des avocats impliqués, à divers titres, dans les expéditions garibaldiens, à partir du matériel résultant du recensement effectué par l’Archive d’Etat de Turin sur les listes des demandeurs d’inscription entre les “garibaldiens”. Il en résulte un cadre à multiples facettes sur lequel émergent (au-delà des personnes recensés) les profils d’éminents avocats, qui ont coopéré avec Garibaldi non seulement dans les campagnes militaires, mais aussi dans les activités administratives et gouvernementale des territoires conquis.

Starting from the results of the research carried out by the Turin National Archives on the lists of volunteers requesting to join Garibaldi’s Redshirts, the paper reconstructs the role of the lawyers who - in various capacities - took part in Garibaldi’s military campaigns during the Italian Risorgimento. This reconstruction revealed a multifaceted framework where (also in addition to the listed volunteers) the names of well-known lawyers emerged, who not only participated in the military actions, but also contributed to the administration and government of the conquered territories.
